Eldora Ogborn

Eldora Grace Pecord Ogborn, 92, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Willard, Ill., died Monday, May 17, 2010, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Aug. 20, 1917, in St. Louis. Her parents were William Charles and Katie McClarney Pecord. She and Lon Edward Ogborn were married Oct. 26, 1936. He preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1995.

Eldora was a lifetime member of Community Chapel Methodist Church in Willard, where she played the piano more than 55 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Diann Lackey of St. Louis; a son, Dr. Bill (Becky) Ogborn of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Dana (Dan) Embree of Branson, Mo., Beth Anne (John) Zytynski of Flower Mound, Texas, and Bo Ogborn, formerly of Cape Girardeau; five great-grandchildren, Kelly and Max Embree of Branson, Gracie, Asher, and Eva Zytynski of Flower Mound.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. Ken Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Olive Branch United Methodist Church or Centenary United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
