Eldon Baylor

Eldon M. "Sonny" Baylor, 73, of Jackson died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Wednesday, April 15, 1942, in Cape Girardeau to Eldon Otto and Elizabeth "Sally" Ryne Baylor. He and Shirley Ann Romack Baylor were married Saturday, Sept. 7, 1963, in Cape Girardeau and would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary Monday.

Eldon served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a pipefitter. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the VFW No. 3838 and the Pipefitters Local No. 562.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of Jackson; two sons, Terry (Angela) Baylor of Oak Ridge and Wayne (Sheila) Baylor of Bragg City, Missouri; a brother, James (Judy) Baylor of Jackson; and four grandchildren, Samantha, Hannah, Elizabeth and Breanna.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home-Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

In honor of Eldon, memorial donations may be made to Cardinal Glennon Hospital.
