PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elda L. Fritsche, 92, of Perryville died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Independence Care Center of Perry County. She was born Sept. 16, 1917, in Perry County, Mo., daughter of Rudolph and Martha Lohmann Schuessler. She and Erwin R. Fritsche were married May 9, 1943. He died Oct. 27, 1999...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elda L. Fritsche, 92, of Perryville died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.

She was born Sept. 16, 1917, in Perry County, Mo., daughter of Rudolph and Martha Lohmann Schuessler. She and Erwin R. Fritsche were married May 9, 1943. He died Oct. 27, 1999.

Survivors include three sons, Richard (Kathy) Fritsche of Austin, Texas, Erwin (Marg) Fritsche of Perryville, Larry (Karen) Fritsche of Evansville, Ind.; a daughter, Christine (Rickey) Best of Uniontown, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Dan and Jennifer Fritsche, Lori and Jason England, Jennifer and Kyle Bosse, Heather and Landon Yeager, Kimberly and Rodney Holdman, Anthony Best, Michelle Fritsche, Mark and Marcia Fritsche; 11 great-grandchildren, Grace, Claire, Jack, Austin Fritsche, Allie England, Jacob, Jordan, Allison Bosse, Hunter Holdman, Lilly Best, Caleb and Kasey Gillen.

Mrs. Fritsche was a nurse aide at Perry County Nursing Home. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, Mo., and its Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, John Cornehlsen; a brother, Edmund Schuessler; a sister, Norma Muench; and a half brother, Gilbert Cornehlsen.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial preference to Lutheran Hour Ministries or Salem Lutheran Church.
