LEOPOLD -- Edwin Marshall Stroder, 64, of Leopold died Saturday, Oct. 14, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Laflin, son of Bryan and Mary Stella Lubbers Stroder. On July 2, 1966, he married Alta Pearl Ramsey.
He was a retired truck driver for the Peters Companies, a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, a member of the St. John's Catholic Church of Leopold, former president of the Leopold Board of Education, treasurer of the Bollinger County Association of Retarded Citizens, and a past member of the Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He also served on the Bollinger County Commission from 1984-86, was a member of St. Isidore Council 5898 and a fourth degree member of St. John's Leopold Assembly 1740 of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dewayne Stroder and Bryan Stroder of Leopold; two daughters, Mary Hager of Marble Hill and Nona Kay Copeland of East Alton, Ill.; a brother, Kelly Stroder of Dexter; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Parish prayers and K of C rosary and fourth degree watch will be at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass will said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold. Father Bill Huggins will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery.
