CAIRO, Ill. -- Edward G. Sims, 75, of Cairo died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Daystar Care Center.
He was born Nov. 10, 1925, in Kirbyton, Ky., son of William and Etta Ledford Sims.
Sims retired as a clerk with Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; two brothers, Wayne Sims of Milburn, Ky., and James Sims of Reidland, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds, Ill., after 10 a.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Jerry McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in Milburn Cemetery in Milburn.
