JACKSON -- Edward M. Zeller, 85, of Jackson, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 17, 1910, near Tilsit, son of Adolph and Bertha Kamp Zeller. He and Olga Birk were married Aug. 27, 1932. Zeller had been a farmer. He worked 62 years with the Pipefitters Local, including the former A.E. Birk Plumbing and Heating in Cape Girardeau, and on U.S. Army bases in 13 states. He also worked in a munitions camp in Lawrence, Kan., during World War II...

JACKSON -- Edward M. Zeller, 85, of Jackson, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 17, 1910, near Tilsit, son of Adolph and Bertha Kamp Zeller. He and Olga Birk were married Aug. 27, 1932.

Zeller had been a farmer. He worked 62 years with the Pipefitters Local, including the former A.E. Birk Plumbing and Heating in Cape Girardeau, and on U.S. Army bases in 13 states. He also worked in a munitions camp in Lawrence, Kan., during World War II.

He was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church at Tilsit and had held various offices in the church. He was a charter member of the former Pipefitters Local 318 in Cape Girardeau, which is now 562 in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Glenn Zeller of Jackson; four daughters, Shirley Sebastian of Jackson, Marilyn Zeller, Judy Barks-Westrich and Brenda Wills-Christensen, all of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Hilda Maevers of Cape Girardeau, Olga Nabers of Waterloo, Ill.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren, and a great-great-stepgrandson.

He was preceded in death by a brother and granddaughter.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and after 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Church. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Revs. Paul Drake and Walter Keisker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
