EDWARD G. ROBINSON

Mr. Edward G. Robinson of Perryville passed away on Thursday, January 7, 1999, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was 95 years old. He was born October 16, 1903, at Perryville, the son of the late Sophia (Schremp) and Andrew Robinson. He married Mary A. (Buchheit) Robinson on November 15, 1932. They were married for 66 years.

Mr. Robinson, a self educated man was employed at St. Marys Seminary in Perryville. In 1945 he started Robinson Service Co. in the basement of his home. This company then became known as Robinson Brothers, and later as Robinson Heating & Air Conditioning. Today it is known as Robinson, Buchheit & Lundy.

In April of 1995 the Congregation of the Mission and Daughters of Charity recognized Mr. Robinson for 75 years of service to their community. At this time The Rev. Robert P. Maloney, superior general of the Congregation of the Mission, named Mr. Robinson as an Affiliate of their Community. The ceremony of affiliation took place at a mass at the St. Marys of the Barrens Church as he was received into the spiritual family of St. Vincent de Paul.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Perryville Optimist Club and a 51 year member of the Perryville Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Buchheit) Robinson; three daughters, Rose Catherine and Carl Buchheit of Perryville; Yvonne and David Steinbecker of Perryville and Marge Steinbecker of St. Louis; two sons, Frank and Joan Robinson and Ed Jr. and Kathy Robinson, all of Perryville; two brothers Clarence Robinson and Lawrence Robinson, both of Perryville; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, He was preceded in death by brothers Henry Robinson and Jesse Robinson.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 1999, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. Visitation will be at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday with the wake service at 7:00 pm Friday and from 6:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Saturday. The Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Perryville.
