EDWARD EUGENE CAIN

ANNA, Ill. -- Edward Eugene Cain, 85, of Anna died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.

He was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Raleigh, son of Walter Louis and Estella Gram Cain. He married Marcella M. Dillow on Aug. 4, 1954, in Anna.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna and a life member of the Anna VFW Post 3455. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired stores clerk at the former Anna State Hospital.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Therese Ferguson of St. Peters, Mo.; a son, Gary Claxton of Elgin; a sister, Josephine Boyd of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Prayer services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna with Fr. Tom Miller officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Cobden with full military honors at the grave by Anna VFW Post 3455.
