PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Edward H. Daume, 90, of Perryville died Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Holiday Residential Care in Perryville.
He was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Tilsit, son of Charles H. and Ida Valle Daume. He married Ruth L. Graden and April 3, 1949. She preceded him in death Jan. 12, 2014.
Edward worked in the circulation department at the Perryville Newspapers Inc. from 1986 to 2009. He was employed by Anderson-Clark Co. 27 years prior to his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Perryville, St. Mark's Lodge 93 AF&AM, Scottish Rite, Valley of St. Louis. He was a graduate of Jackson High School.
Survivors include four daughters, Brenda (Ken) Erhard of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Patricia (Tom) Nolen of Festus, Missouri, Linda (Alan) Boxdorfer of Perryville and Karla (Mike) Prevallet of St. Mary, Missouri; two sons, Edward (Chelle) Daume Jr. and Michael (Amy) Daume of Perryville; five sisters, Marie Haupt and Margaret Puchbauer of Jackson, Allegra Wendel of Oak Ridge, Ruth Meier of Perryville and Ethel Hall of House Springs Missouri; and a brother, Melbert E. Daume of Cape Girardeau.
Also 17 grandchildren, Brian Miller, Angela McKnight, Scott Nolen, Jason Nolen, Jennifer Heibeck, Matthew Boxdorfer, Jeremy Boxdorfer, Joshua Boxdorfer, Nathan Adams, Nick Adams, Clay Prevallet, Clint Prevallet, Amanda Daume, Alexandra Daume, Michelle Daume, Cierra Sleyster and Jacob Sleyster; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Charles H. Daume Jr.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at Faith Presbyterian Church. A Masonic wake will be held Sunday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Owens and the Rev. Dr. Thomas Bass co-officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Faith Presbyterian Church or Crown Hospice.
