WHITEWATER -- Edna Dona Wendel, 87, of Whitewater died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 7, 1911, at Allenville, daughter of Emory D. and Amelia Blumenberg Cook. She and Joseph W. Wendel were married Aug. 11, 1932. He died Oct. 27, 1991.
Wendel was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women and Adult Bible Class. She was a former leader of Poplar Ridge 4-H Club.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Wendel of Jackson, Robert Wendel of Whitewater; two brothers, Roy and Leslie Cook of Whitewater; two sisters, Stella Willer and Ruby Stroder of Whitewater; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Church, with the Rev. Jimmie E. Corbin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
