Edna Nebel Schaefer, age 93, died Tuesday, April 7, 1999, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Edna and her twin brother, Edwin, were born October 10, 1905, in Dutchtown, Mo., to Antone & Mary Ourth Keller Nebel.
She married Robert Eugene Schaefer on April 3, 1932. Mr. Schaefer died on Jan. 22, 1979.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Cape Girardeau, The Senior Ladies Aide and the former Walther League. She was employed for 25 years at the old tobacco factory on Frederick Street, and was an excellent seamstress.
Edna is survived by six nephews, J. Edwin Nebel of Bonne Terre, Mo.; Michael Nebel, Weldon Nebel, Carlton Nebel, and Eugene Schrader all of St. Louis, Mo. and Owen Crites of Jackson; three nieces, Wilma Grossheider of Gordonville and Alberta Loos of Cape Girardeau and Dot Giddings of St. Louis, Mo.; dear friends, Alma "Snookie" Hunze and Jerry Patrick of Cape Girardeau, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one step-brother and two step-sisters.
Friends may call at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel, Friday, April 9, 1999, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with services at the Chapel at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. David Hintz officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorimier Cemetery.
