BENTON, Mo. -- Edna Mae Ranson, 84, of Benton died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Bethesda Southgate Nursing Facility in St. Louis.
She was born Sept. 16, 1918, in Barlow, N.D., daughter of Eltjo and Jennie DeLang Buss. She and Leonard Nicholas Ranson were married Oct. 17, 1938, in Fargo, N.D. He died Aug. 27, 1983.
Ranson was a teacher at Shawnee and Anna-Jonesboro High Schools; a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and Ladies 99 Pilot Association in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include three sons, Paul Ranson of Greenville, Ill., David Ranson of Memphis, Tenn., and Dan Ranson of St. Louis; two daughters, Lenna Elder of Owensboro, Ky., and Mary Bruner of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Denis Catholic Church. Concelebrants will be the Revs. Normand Varone and Peter Hsu. Burial will be at St. Denis Cemetery.
