Edna M. "Sue" Gibson, 91, of 322 N. Lorimier died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 29, 1906, in Highland, Ill., the daughter of Louis Q. Miller and Louisa Vaugniaux Miller. Mrs. Gibson was a registered nurse. She worked for the Cape Girardeau Public Schools for 20 years as a school nurse...

Edna M. "Sue" Gibson, 91, of 322 N. Lorimier died Saturday, June 6, 1998, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 29, 1906, in Highland, Ill., the daughter of Louis Q. Miller and Louisa Vaugniaux Miller.

Mrs. Gibson was a registered nurse. She worked for the Cape Girardeau Public Schools for 20 years as a school nurse.

She was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She received her nursing degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

She will be buried at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was married June 10, 1933, in Highland, Ill., to Dr. Ora James Gibson. Dr. and Mrs. Gibson moved to Cape Girardeau in 1946, and Dr. Gibson was an obstetrician/gynecologist in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death May 20, 1953.

Mrs. Gibson was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was a member of the Cape Girardeau Garden Club, the Mary Martha Circle at her church. She volunteered for the American Heart Association and the Tuberculosis Society.

She is survived by one son, Ora James Gibson Jr., a daughter-in-law, Nancy J. Gibson, both of Cape Girardeau; a grandson, Edward James Gibson of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Lorene Killion of Highland, Ill.; two nephews, Allan John Killion of Champaign, Ill., and Reynold Lee Miller of Poplar Bluff.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. James Caughlan and the Rev. Ernest Jordan officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.
