DEXTER -- Edna Malone Handley, 77, of Dexter died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born July 12, 1922, at Dewitt, Ark., daughter of John and Lillie James Putney. She and Lester Malone were married Feb. 23, 1940. He died Feb. 26, 1978. She and Frank Handley were married in 1986.
Handley lived in Arkansas and California before moving to Dexter in 1972. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church at Dexter.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Malone of Fuquay, N.C., Larry Malone of Dexter and Thomas Malone of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Shirley Weaver of Bloomfield; two brothers, Lawrence Putney of Flint, Mich., and Lee Putney of Quartzsite, Ariz.; five sisters, Hester Mier of Advance, Alline Baker of Flint, Mich., Catherine Neuhaus, Ora Putney and Easter LaRue of Dexter; 14 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home at Dexter.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roy Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at Hagy Cemetery.
