Edna F. Caldwell, 97, of Rolla, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007.
She was born March 10, 1910, at Benton, Mo., daughter of James W. and May Harbinson Farris. Edna was united in marriage to Emory Caldwell of Commerce, Mo., March 21, 1942. He preceded her in death July 23, 1972.
Edna graduated from Benton High School and worked for Scott County Abstract Office many years. Edna and Emory moved to Cape Girardeau in 1950. He retired as a towboat engineer on the river. Their daughter, Cathy Caldwell Bond graduated from Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University.
Edna moved to Rolla in June 1994 to be near her family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Cathy (Dr. Joseph) Bond of Rolla; three grandchildren, Mark, Matthew and Courtney Bond; two nephews, Lester Miller of Cape Girardeau and Tom Miller of Tallahassee, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, John, James and Wilson Farris; and a sister, Easter Miller.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park.
Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
