CHARLESTON -- Edith Williams, 87, of Charleston, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1992, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Covington, Tenn. She was born Feb. 24, 1905, in New Madrid County, daughter of George and Virginia Baker Cade. She first married Riley Matheny, who preceded her in death. She later married J.M. Williams, who also preceded her in death...

CHARLESTON -- Edith Williams, 87, of Charleston, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1992, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Covington, Tenn.

She was born Feb. 24, 1905, in New Madrid County, daughter of George and Virginia Baker Cade. She first married Riley Matheny, who preceded her in death. She later married J.M. Williams, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Frances Hart of Charleston; a brother, George Cade of Farmington; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and a number of stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, four brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Chapel. Cline Ables will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
