ANNA, Ill. -- Edith Mildred Wells, 101, of Little Rock, Ark., died Monday, July 30, 2007, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock.
She was born March 12, 1906, in Anna, daughter of Clay R. and Ella Kiest Walser. She and Fred Rayburn Wells were married July 10, 1925. He died March 26, 1953.
Wells attended Carthage Lutheran College. She retired in 1972 from Dillard's Department Store in Little Rock. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Little Rock, and former member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Flake of Willis, Texas; two sons, Frederick Wells of Naples, Fla., Harold Wells of Little Rock; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three stepgrandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a granddaughter, three brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Walters officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
