CHAFFEE -- Edith E. Spencer, 88, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 1996, at the Geitner Home in St. Louis.
She was born in Uniontown, Ark., on Sept. 3, 1907, to the late Henry and Lula Clawson Speir. She married Dr. Lyman Paul Spencer on Feb. 5, 1938, at Jonesboro, Ark. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1969.
She earned her home economics degree at Arkansas Polytech College and her bachelor's degbree in home economics at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
She was a retired county home demonstration agent in Sebastian County, Arkansas, retiring after marrying.
She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chaffee American Legion Post No. 389. She was a Methodist.
Survivors are one son, Joseph Spencer of St. Louis; and two grandsons.
Friends may call at the Kutis Funeral Home in St. Louis from 4-8 p.m. today. Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the AmickBurnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Burial will be in St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee.
