BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Edith Lavica Poe, 91, of Bloomfield died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Mo. She was born Jan. 9, 1909, in Bloomfield, daughter of Terry and Cora Stacey Poe. She and Raymond Ray Southerland were married June 8, 1928. He died Dec. 14, 1984...

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Edith Lavica Poe, 91, of Bloomfield died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Mo.

She was born Jan. 9, 1909, in Bloomfield, daughter of Terry and Cora Stacey Poe. She and Raymond Ray Southerland were married June 8, 1928. He died Dec. 14, 1984.

Poe was a lifelong member of the West Pleasant Valley Methodist Church in Bloomfield, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for several years.

Survivors include one daughter, Marion McCalmon of Campbell; one brother, Roy Poe of Bloomfield; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. James Poe will officiate, with burial in the West Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Bloomfield.
