Edith P. Ervin, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Crosno, Mo., to Duard Lee and Lucy Roberts Pruitt. She and Wilton W. Ervin were married June 13, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death March 6, 1995.
Edith was a member of Maple United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She had worked a number of years as a secretary in the medical industry. Edith loved her Gaither videos, her quilts, and loved having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her.
Survivors include three sons, Michael W. Ervin (Marion), of Johannesburg, Wilton L. Ervin (Beverly) and Mark S. Ervin (Susan) of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Sue Keller (Kerry) of St. Charles, Mo., Joy Fowler (Tom) of Florissant, Mo.; three brothers, Duard Pruitt of New Concord, Ohio, Delbert Pruitt of Paducah, Ky., Albert Pruitt of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Gifford of Sacramento, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harry and Eddie Pruitt.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Maple United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barron Willer officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
