POCAHONTAS, Ark. -- Edith Jewell Burgfeld, 96, of Pocahontas passed away May 3, 2017, at the Randolph County Nursing Home in Pocahontas.
She was born Oct. 20, 1920, in St. Francis, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late N.D. and Ida Mae Hall Oxley.
She was united in marriage to Leo Burgfeld, and he preceded her in death in December 1990.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Denver Oxley and Delmar C. Oxley; and sister, Gladys Crittenden.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Charles Carrens officiating. Burial will be in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Shannon Lincoln, David Bandy, Jim Sanders and Noah Bandy.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements.
