ANNA, Ill. -- Edith Miller Bonner, 91, of Anna, formerly of Mounds, Ill., died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Helia Healthcare of Carbondale in Carbondale, Ill.
She was born March 8, 1915, in Wetaug, Ill., daughter of Homer and Clara Young Miller. She and Miles Bonner were married. He died April 13, 1997.
Bonner was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cairo, Ill., the Lutheranns, the Cairo Women's Club and served as the executive secretary for the Cairo Chamber of Commerce before her retirement. She was also very active at Anna Vista Apartments in Anna.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Bonner of Mound City, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Roger LeMaire of DeLand, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Betty Miller of Anna; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by one son, one sister and one brother.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cairo with Pastor Nan Ellis officiating. Interment will be at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
