EDGAR L. PROST

PERRYVILLE -- Edgar Louis Prost, 95, of Perryville, died Tuesday, April 28, 1992, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Feb. 8, 1897, at Perryville, son of Louis and Caroline Prost. He married Zita P. Zahner, who died June 13, 1987.

Prost was retired from Crown, Cork and Seal Co. in St. Louis. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, KC Council 1263 and American Legion Post 133 in Perryville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I.

Survivors include two sons, Earl Prost of Union, Wilbert Prost of Livingston, Ill.; a daughter, Lorene Elder of Jennings; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, brother, sister and two grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Henry Grodecki will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and 6:30-9:45 a.m. Friday. A parish wake will be held at 7:30 tonight.
