OAK RIDGE -- Edgar A. Kayser Sr., 75, of Granite City, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born Sept. 26, 1923, at Oak Ridge, son of Ben and Edna Moore Kayser. He married Rose Stoll.
Kayser was a foreman 35 years in the casting department at Consolidated Aluminum in Madison, Ill., retiring in 1988.
He attended Hope Lutheran Church, and was a member of Granite City Senior Social Club, AARP, American Volkport Association, Illinois Trekkers Club, and Traveling Trekkers.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Edgar Kayser Jr. of Barnhart, Richard and Donald Kayser of Nampa, Idaho; two sisters, Nell Kieninger of Pocahontas, Madeline Kester of Chatham, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Werner Chapel in Granite City from 3-7 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at Hope Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Fielding officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis.
