EDGAR GIBBS

BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Edgar Gibbs of Bloomfield will be held at 1 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home, with the Rev. Hank Foster officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Gibbs, 89, died Sunday, May 21, 1995, at Bloomfield Nursing Center.

He was born Sept. 4, 1905, at Vanduser, son of Samuel and Mollie Holt Gibbs. He and Odessa Stafford were married in 1925. She died April 4, 1969. He married Edith Robb Aug. 17, 1969.

Gibbs was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Bloomfield Lodge 153 AF&AM.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dale Gibbs of Doniphan, Wayne Gibbs of Van Buren, Roger Gibbs of Bloomfield; a daughter, Wilda Cook of El Paso, Texas; 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons.
