PUXICO -- Edgar Brown, 78, of Puxico died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 31, 1920, in Ridgeway, Ill. He first married Geneva McLean Dec. 20, 1945. He later married Betty Hull Green Nov. 1, 1973.
Brown was retired from IXL Handle Factory. He was recognized in 1998 for selling tickets at Puxico Homecoming 50 years. He was a member of Puxico VFW Post.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and received a Purple Heart.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dianna Turner of Puxico; two stepsons, Bobby and Darrell Green of Hallsville, Texas; three stepdaughters, Nancy Barnfield of Puxico, Susan Lortie of Blytheville, Ark., Donna Dunbar of Conway, Ark.; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Morgan Sifford Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Puxico City Cemetery, with military rites to be conducted.
