ORAN -- Edgar Abner, 78, of Oran, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1993 at his home.
He was born May 31, 1914 in Shawan, Mo., the son of Columbus and Rhoda Riggins Abner.
He was employed in construction and was a member of the Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Oran.
He married Mayme Matheneyn on Dec. 21, 1933. She preceded him in death on June 2, 1940.
He then married Ruby Ellen Woods on Oct. 5, 1940. She preceded him in death Sept. 17, 1988.
He then married Eva Reece in Sept. 9, 1989. She survives.
He is survived by three sons, Dwayne Abner, Oran, the Rev. Jimmy Abner, Ironton, Eddie Abner, Clements, Calif.; five daughters, Mary Heiney, Pevely, Faye Pfeil, St. Louis, Wanette Daniels, Oran, Judy Barchett, Benton Harbor, Mich., Janet Mims, Oran; two step-daughters, Donna Teague, Oran, Wanda Seyer, Cape Girardeau; one brother, Howard Abner, Bell City; 27 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
One son, two brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Friend may call today after 2 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
Funeral service will be held Monday at Life Tabernacle Church in Oran at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jimmy Abner officiating, assisted by the Revs. Gerald Hamlett, Wesley Taylor and Doyle Randall.
Burial will follow in Friend Cemetery in Oran.
