Eddie Shackles, 77, of Whitewater passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 26, 1941, in Chaffee, Missouri, to the late John Albert and Virgie Cecelia Griffin Shackles. He married Kathy Audini on May 16, 1987, and she survives of the home.

Eddie retired from the local Carpenters Union No. 1770 of Cape Girardeau in 2002. He was a member of Zion Methodist Church in Gordonville.

He is survived by three sons, David (Tammy) Shackles of Rockview, Missouri, Scott Shackles (Margie) of Whitewater, and Bill (Laura) Moore of New Wells; four daughters, Jeannie (Rusty) Underwood of Scott City, Connie Brashear of Flower Mounds, Texas, Cindy (Darrin) Berghoff of Gordonville and Kerri Jackman of Jackson; a brother, Kenneth (Karen) Shackles of Cape Girardeau; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Shackles; a great-grandson, Christian Shackles; a great-granddaughter, Connor Moore; and two sons-in-law, Bobby Jackman and Mike Brashear.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joel Kidwell officiating. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
