Eddie Earl Laws Sr., 53, of Scott City died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 31, 1950, at Portageville, Mo., son of Lee and Mildred Lovell Laws. He and Patricia Ann Durbin were married July 25, 1969, at Portageville.
Laws was plant supervisor at Industrial Fuels and Resources. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 6420.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Eddie Laws Jr. of Jackson, Adam Laws of Scott City; two daughters, Lee Ann Blankenship and Holly Reed of Scott City; his mother of Portageville; a brother, Kendall Laws of Portageville; three sisters, Kay Blanchett of Burfordville, Helen Lane of Portageville, Carolyn Pruitt of the state of Michigan; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and Knights of Columbus service at 7:15.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. James Seyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
