TAMMS, Ill. -- Ed Hargrove, 89, of Tamms and formerly of Wickliffe, Ky., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 8, 1918, at Cadiz, Ky., son of Lewis and Bertha Lawrence Hargrove. He married Ruby Henderson.

Hargrove was an ironworker out of Paducah Ironworkers Union No. 782.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Hargrove of Tamms; four daughters, Joyce Murphew of Wickliffe, Ky., Rosetta Jackson of Bardwell, Ky., Evelyn Caldwell of Thebes, Ill., Ann Houser of Chicago; four sons, Ray Holshouser of Jonesboro, Ill., Bob Holshouser of Woodridge, Ill., David Holshouser of Marion, Ill., Ronnie Holshouser of Jackson; two sisters, Star Wallace of Gage, Ky., Goldie Webb of Decatur, Ga.; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James Ed Hargrove and Jack Holshouser; four brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Elliot Wallace will officiate, with burial in Wickliffe Cemetery.
