ORAN -- Ebon Andrew McCallister, 89, of Oran, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1994, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 18, 1905, in Gordonville, son of Robert Douglas and Sarah Melissa Bean McCallister. He and Naomi Ghent were married Oct. 25, 1947.
McCallister was a retired self-employed livestock dealer. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Sodality. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Stephanie Turek of Fenton; a stepdaughter, Raona Hentz of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Irene Aubuchon of Florissant; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran after 5 p.m. today. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:30.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. Frederick Lutz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
