ESSEX -- E.B. Cobb, 72, of Essex died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. He was born Sept. 4, 1926, at Greenway, Ark., son of James Newton and Ada Alice Rickman Cobb. He and Edith Mae Silas were married Oct. 14, 1944...

ESSEX -- E.B. Cobb, 72, of Essex died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born Sept. 4, 1926, at Greenway, Ark., son of James Newton and Ada Alice Rickman Cobb. He and Edith Mae Silas were married Oct. 14, 1944.

He was employed by the Richland School District where he was a custodian and bus driver for many years.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Johnnie Cobb of St. Louis, Richard Cobb of Rogers, Ark., and Terry Cobb of Minneapolis, Minn.; five daughters, Carolyn Gisi of Essex, Linda Boyer of Barnhart, Virginia Cato of Poplar Bluff, Kathryn Farrior of Little Rock, Ark., and Eva Long of Holland, Mich.; a brother, J.T. Cobb of Rector, Ark.; two sisters, Marie Newell of Essex and Cristola Foushee of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Doyle Corlew will officiate, with burial in the Dexter Cemetery.
