ADVANCE, Mo. -- Easter Lorene Walker, 89, of Advance passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at the Advance Nursing Center.
She was born April 9, 1928, in Coal Hill, Arkansas, the daughter of Cade and Lou Ellen McMillian Hardgrave.
Lorene had been a homemaker. She had been a Sunday-school and Bible-school teacher at Advance First Baptist Church. She also had worked as a cook for the Advance RIV Schools.
Lorene was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She showed love and taught love to her family. She was very involved in her children's activities; she had been a room mother for her children's school classes at Advance schools. She was a skilled seamstress and often made clothing, including dresses, for her daughter when she was younger. Later in her life, she enjoyed flower arranging, needlepoint and knitting.
Lorene and Cloyd Walker were united in marriage March 8, 1947, at Piggott, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death March 21, 2010.
Loving survivors include two sons, Myron Walker of Hancock, Wisconsin, and Riche Walker of Advance; a daughter, Myla Randolph of Sarasota, Florida; a brother, Orlan Hardgrave of Herculaneum, Missouri; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three infant brothers; three brothers, Loren, Girthal and Aldean Hardgrave; and two sisters, Willie Woods and Hester Crawford.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Eric Shrum and Riche Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
