PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Earl Martin of Perryville died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was 74. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Earl Martin of Perryville died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was 74.

He was born in Menfro, Mo., on Aug. 31, 1935, son of the late Frank and Ada Dunn Martin. He and Anna Buerck Martin were married April 25, 1959. She survives in Perryville.

Other survivors include two daughters, Christy and Floyd Dobbelare and Robyn and Mike Richardet; three sons, Kevin and Lisa Martin, Keith and Beth Martin and Kurt and Heather Martin; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Martin, all of Perryville, Mo.; brothers and sisters-in-law Isadore Bohnert, Dean Hecht, Melvin and Vilet Robert, Kenny and Ida Buerck, Bernie Winschel, Richard and Katy Ruesler and Viola Pruesser; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kent Martin; an infant daughter; a brother, Carrol Martin; and two sisters, Juanita Bohnert and Majorie Hecht.

Mr. Martin was a carpenter in St Louis and then worked for Gilster-Mary Lee in Perryville. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of American Legion Post 133 and Amvets Post 94, both in Perryville.

Service for Earl Martin will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville, with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and from 6:30 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133 and the Missouri Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
