ANNA, Ill. -- Earl J. Dirden, 60, of Anna, died Sunday, March 12, 1995, at Union County Hospital.
He was born June 11, 1934, in Cobden, son of Earl L. and Evelyn Guthrie Dirden. He and Jo Alice Murphy were married Aug. 28, 1952, in Clovis, N.M. She died May 15, 1983.
Dirden retired as a mental health technician at Clyde L. Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center. He served in the U.S. Air Force 20 years, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Yearian of West Frankfort, Tammy Tellor of Anna; a son, David Dirden of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Barbara Keller of Dongola, Gerry Brown of Alto Pass, and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald J. Poole officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
