Luther Earl Doney, 83, 2201 N. Sprigg, died Tuesday, March 8, 1994, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Oct. 29, 1910, at Piedmont, son of Lewis and Mamie Bunyard Doney. He and Virginia Hale were married Dec. 27, 1947, in Cape Girardeau.
Doney was a welder at Huffman Refrigeration Co. in St. Louis from 1938-63. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1974. He was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church, and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Doney of House Springs; three brothers, Wayne Doney of North St. Louis County, Melvin Doney of Hot Springs, Ark., Bob Doney of Columbia, Ill.; a sister, Ruth Rieman of Garland, Texas; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
