DUEL STANDRIDGE

FISK -- Duel E. Standridge, 82, of Fisk died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born March 18, 1918, in Atkins, Ark., son of Oscar and Hettie Reid Standridge. He and Millie King were married July 27, 1935, in Atkins. She died Feb. 2, 1999.

Standridge lived in California 20 years, then returned to the Dexter area, and had lived at Fisk the past seven years. He attended the General Baptist Church, and was a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center in Dexter a number of years.

Survivors include three sons, Cecil Standridge of Sacramento, Calif., Duwayne Standridge of Denison, Texas, Wilburn Standridge of Cross City, Fla.; a daughter, Francis Miller of Fisk; a brother, James Standridge of Tulia, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Revs. W.H. Worth and Marion Gipson will officiate. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
