POTOSI, Mo. -- Duane "Buck" Buchanan, 59, of Potosi died Friday, April 29, 2011, at his home.
He was born May 15, 1951, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of E.A. "Buck" and Mary Glenelea Clyburn Buchanan. He and Virginia "Gina" Samules were married June 7, 1975, in St. Louis. This union was blessed with two children.
Survivors include his loving wife of Potosi; a daughter, Mary Allison Buchanan of St. Louis; a son, Samuel Andrew (Amanda) Buchanan of Chicago; his mother of Perryville, Mo.; a brother, Michael (Irene) Buchanan of Memphis, Tenn.; other relatives; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Buchanan was a conservation agent with Missouri Department of Conservation for 31 years. He was a member of Potosi United Methodist Church and Potosi Elks Lodge No. 2218. He enjoyed playing the guitar and mandolin and spending time with family and friends. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. In his spare time he enjoyed drawing, painting and woodwork.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi, with a celebration of life reception at the Elks Lodge following the service.
