PERRYVILLE -- Dr. Russell J. Moeckel, 63, of Perryville, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 1994, at his home.
He was born Dec. 24, 1930, in Jacob, Ill., son of Herbert and Stella Bellmann Moeckel. He and Loretta M. Heins were married Nov. 10, 1951.
Moeckel was a graduate of Logan Chiropractic College, and had been a practicing chiropractor 33 years. He was also president of Perry Developers.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; Perryville Chamber of Commerce; American Legion Post 133; SEMO, Missouri State and American Chiropractic Associations; past president of Jaycees and the Lions Club in Perryville. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dr. Keith Moeckel of Perryville; two daughters, Vicky Surman of Houston, Texas, Toni Moll of Cape Girardeau; his mother of Murphysboro, Ill.; two sisters, Shirley Moeckel of Murphysboro, Janice Bright of Ste. Genevieve, and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and 6:30 a.m.-noon Thursday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Donald Loesch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
