Dr. Rowland A. Fulenwider Jr., 63, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 11, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, son of Rowland A. and Emily Patterson Fulenwider Sr. He and Dixie Taylor were married Dec. 9, 1972, in Trenton, Tenn.
Dr. Fulenwider was a 1959 graduate of Western Military Academy in Alton, Ill. He then attended Central Methodist College, graduating with a bachelor of arts degree, and in 1976 he graduated from Logan School of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo.
In December 1976 he established his chiropractic practice in Jackson. He was a lifelong member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and a member of Excelsior Lodge 441 in Jackson. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and York Rite member, as well as a member of Moolah Shrine in St. Louis.
Loving survivors include his wife, Dixie of Jackson; a son, Zachary Fulenwider of Jackson; a daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Jonathan Fox of Smyrna, Tenn.; a grandson, Eli Patterson Fox of Smyrna; two sisters, Judith Hahs of Cape Girardeau and Sue Clifton of Ada, Okla.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alexandrea, and his parents.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at New McKendree United Methodist Church. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a rose croix Scottish Rite service.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Shriners Hospital for Children or New McKendree Celebration Center.
