DEXTER -- Funeral service for Dr. Richard Abbe Comeau of Dexter was held Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Schumacher officiated, with burial in Dexter Cemetery.

Rainey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Comeau, 73, died Thursday, July 23, 1992, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 3, 1919, in Cambelton, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Abbe J. and Adeline A. Nicolle Comeau. He and Corinne Hachey were married Aug. 10, 1942, in New Brunswick.

Comeau graduated from the University of Montreal in 1948. He passed the Missouri State Board March 28, 1955, and had practiced medicine here since that time.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, SEMO County Medical Society, Southern Medical Association, Crowley Ridge Flyers, American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians, and Missouri Pilots Association.

Comeau had been an examiner for Federal Aviation Administration since May 24, 1957. He was a charter member of National Association of Disability Evaluating Physicians and American College of General Practice. He was a courtesy staff member at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Comeau of Cape Girardeau, and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
