Dr. Raymond A. Ritter Sr. of 3120 Independence, died Friday, May 30, 1997. He was 92 years old. He was born Sept. 17, 1904, near New Melle, Mo., son of August and Louise Hasenjaeger Ritter. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1933 and on June 27, 1933, he married Helen Hammer. She preceded him in death on June 25, 1969. He married Lillian Kimbel in Cape Girardeau on Oct. 20, 1975. Dr. Raymond A. Ritter Sr. of 3120 Independence, died Friday, May 30, 1997. He was 92 years old.

He was born Sept. 17, 1904, near New Melle, Mo., son of August and Louise Hasenjaeger Ritter. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1933 and on June 27, 1933, he married Helen Hammer. She preceded him in death on June 25, 1969. He married Lillian Kimbel in Cape Girardeau on Oct. 20, 1975. She survives of the home.

He worked for many years as a medical doctor in Cape Girardeau. He held memberships in the Downtown Rotary Club and First Presbyterian Church. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.

He is survived by two sons, Dr. Raymond Ritter Jr. of Cape Girardeau and Dr. Carl F. Ritter of Sedona, Ariz.; two daughters, Carolyn Reitz of Wichita, Kan., and Margaret Ueleke of Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Visitation services will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. A private burial will take place Tuesday morning at Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by a public funeral service at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Brendan Dempsey officiating.
