Dr. Lila Miller, 94, died Wednesday, July 10, 1996, at the Chateau Health Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 11, 1902, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of I. Ben and Clara Bean Miller. Miller was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She received her bachelor's degree in 1926 and her master's in 1927, both from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Lila Miller, 94, died Wednesday, July 10, 1996, at the Chateau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 11, 1902, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of I. Ben and Clara Bean Miller.

Miller was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She received her bachelor's degree in 1926 and her master's in 1927, both from the University of Wisconsin. She taught at the Mississippi State College for Women for one year and worked in nutrition research at Battle Creek, Mich.

Miller received her doctor's degree from the University of Michigan in 1936 and did her postdoctorate work from 1936-1937. She returned to Missouri in 1979.

Survivors include a nephew, Bob Miller of Stephenville, Texas, and a cousin, Kathryn Sackman of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from noon to 1:30 Monday at the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Brendan Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow in Lorimier Cemetery.
