CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Dr. Jean R. Boatright, 81, of Champaign, formerly of Anna, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at his home.
He was born March 28, 1926, in Saline County, Ill., son of Horace and Imo Nolen Boatright. He and Betty Glascock were married Jan. 19, 1952. She died Sept. 5, 1996.
Boatright retired as medical director of Anna Mental Health Center in 1987. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
He was a member of Mayo Alumni Association, University of Illinois Alumni Association, Air Force Association, Anna Rotary Club and American Legion. He was also a pilot.
Boatright attained the rank of colonel in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Boatright of Urbana, Ill., John Boatright of Jonesboro, Ill.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
A graveside service will follow immediately at Lindale Memorial Gardens in Eldorado, Ill. The Rev. Larry Buckles will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by Saline County VFW Post 3479.
