Dr. Edward Lee Snider, 73, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003, at his home. He was born March 10, 1930, in Stoddard County, Mo., son of John T. and Emma Lee Clifft Snider. He and Lurlyne Lee Kincy were married Aug. 19, 1950, at Dexter, Mo...

Dr. Edward Lee Snider, 73, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003, at his home.

He was born March 10, 1930, in Stoddard County, Mo., son of John T. and Emma Lee Clifft Snider. He and Lurlyne Lee Kincy were married Aug. 19, 1950, at Dexter, Mo.

Dr. Snider received a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Missouri June 5, 1962. He was owner and operator of Skyview Animal Clinic.

He was a member of Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee, Cape Girardeau County Pork Producers Association, and had been veterinarian for Southeast Missouri District Fair. He was an honorary member of American Veterinary Medical Association, and an honorary member of Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, serving on the executive board six years.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ray Dennis Snider of Marble Hill, Mo., Ralph Lee Snider of Cape Girardeau, Dean Ryan Snider of Marion, Ill.; a daughter, Jan Ellen Grammer of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Harold "Pete" Snider of Dexter, Dr. Glen Snider of Stockbridge, Ga.; two sisters, Dorlus Moore and Betty Irvin of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Hal Greene officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Snider, Ryan Snider, Jay Snider, Aodhan Durham, Kyle Grammer and David Matthews.
