Dr. Edward Adair Rodgers, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, May 15, 1997, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

He was born May 11, 1905, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Rodgers. He and Melba Hobbs were married Oct. 29, 1944, in Blytheville, Ark.

Rodgers was a 1930 graduate of B.J. Palmar School of Chiropractic. He started a practice in Iowa, then moved to St. James and operated a practice 12 years. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1965. He had worked in the circulation department of the St. Louis Globe and Post Dispatch many years. He also wrote a column titled Hodgepodge for the Southeast Missourian Newspaper.

Survivors include his wife.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, three sisters, and a half sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel after noon Saturday.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fairmount Cemetery, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating.
