MORLEY, Mo. -- Douglas M. Brashear Sr., 57, of Morley died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born Jan. 20, 1943, at Bertrand, Mo., son of John Finley and Mary Lucy Vanpool Brashear. He and Frances Ellen Qualls were married April 9, 1966.
Brashear was a welder at Missouri Dry Dock and Repair Co. in Cape Girardeau, until retiring due to ill health. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Delta, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doug Brashear of Benton, Mo., Arthur Brashear of Morley; a daughter, Mary Ellen Bryan of Benton; a brother, Lawrence Brashear of Sikeston; two sisters, Beatrice Crawford and Nancy Newsom of Morley; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
