DEXTER -- Dottie Mae Shell, 89, of Dexter died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.
She was born July 21, 1910, in Stoddard County, daughter of Cleveland and Roda Harper Wright. She and Harvey Shell were married Sept. 2, 1931, at Dexter. He died March 24, 1979.
Shell attended Dexter Public Schools. She was a substitute teacher at the elementary and high school level many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. William Shell of Sikeston, Harvey Shell of Columbia; two brothers, Worda Wright of Michigan, Charles Wright of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Betty Allen of Poplar Bluff; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at after 1 p.m. Sunday at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Wayne Dismuke will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
