Dortha Moroni

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Dortha Jean Moroni, 74, of Advance passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 15, 1941, at Bernie, Missouri, the daughter of E.R. and Rachel Glass Carson.

Dortha was a homemaker and raised a family.

Dortha and Thomas Moroni were united in marriage Dec. 24, 1962, in Bernie, and he survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, David "Hope" Moroni of Paris, Tennessee, and Steven Moroni of Chaffee, Missouri; a brother, E.R. "Carol" Carson Jr. of Jasper, Georgia; a sister, Linda "Phil" Dawson of Bernie; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Catholic cemetery in Advance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
