GILMAN, Ill. -- Dortha Mae McClain, 84, of Gilman, formerly of Chaffee, Missouri, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, at her residence. She was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Turrell, Arkansas, the daughter of Norvel Harry and Viola Robins Gremar. She and John McClain were united in marriage Jan. 1, 1949, and he passed away Aug. 9, 2002...

GILMAN, Ill. -- Dortha Mae McClain, 84, of Gilman, formerly of Chaffee, Missouri, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 14, 1932, in Turrell, Arkansas, the daughter of Norvel Harry and Viola Robins Gremar. She and John McClain were united in marriage Jan. 1, 1949, and he passed away Aug. 9, 2002.

Dortha worked as a hospital dietary manager and was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Sheldon, Illinois, where her pastor was the Rev. Ron Childress.

Survivors include two sons, Mark McClain of Gilman and Jeffrey McClain of St. Peters, Missouri; two daughters, Janice Felderhoff of Fort Worth, Texas, and Deanna Davis of Euharlee, Georgia; two sisters, Jeanie Massa of Alton, Missouri, and Sue (Don) Ivie of Zalma, Missouri; 20 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Michael McClain; her twin brother, Jessey Ray Gremar; brothers, William Franklin and Floyd Gremar; a sister, Viola Mae Gremar; and a granddaughter, Sheila Susan Wells.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery near Arbor, Missouri.
